The BIG Sleep Margam Country Park, Port Talbot
No veteran should call the street a home. Too many ex-service personnel are still sleeping rough, sofa surfing or sleeping in cars because they have hit a crisis in their civilian lives. As the lead provider of Homes for Veterans in Wales, we are proud to be saving Welsh lives.
Join us in a poignant community event that sets the right tone marking Armistice Day of respect, gratitude and hopefulness.

Join us on Friday, 10th November in a poignant community event that sets the right tone marking Armistice Day of respect, gratitude and hopefulness.
Alabaré Homes for Veterans provides a series of homes and support programmes for veterans who are homeless or struggling. The sponsorship raised will go directly to help fund our pathway of support for vulnerable veterans, ensuring they have a safe home, training, and support with their mental well-being.
What is involved on the night?
You will join other participants at this outstanding location sleeping alongside the Orangery at Margam Country Park. There will be an opportunity to hear from veterans who have benefitted from Alabaré’s help and to learn more about the support you are making possible. In the morning, we will hold a moment of reflection to mark Armistice Day; everyone is welcome whether you have served or not.
We will send you a Welcome Pack containing a full kit list, sponsorship form, ideas on how to fundraise, and details on how to get your sponsorship doubled! Final instructions will be emailed to participants; on arrival you will be offered an emergency bivvy bag, refreshments throughout the night, and breakfast in the morning.
All participants must be 14 years of age or older on the date of the event. Those aged 14-17 must have a parent/guardian consent form to take part (this will be emailed to you) and attend with a registered adult.
Everyone taking part pledges to raise a minimum of £100, and collectively, we aim to raise £30,000. This has the potential to be doubled thanks to the BA Community Crowd Funder, meaning our goal could become an impressive £60,000!
* Sponsorship donations must be made via the Crowdfunder page to be eligible for match funding. BA Better World Community Fund will match every donation you receive up to £250 per donation.

A year ago, I was in such a difficult place. Others might have given up, but Alabaré gave me a home and a chance to build a future. I was completely honest with them, and they did not judge me, but gave me the support and opportunities I needed to move forward with my life. Alabaré’s Boots on the Ground team have helped me gain skills, confidence and the ability to lead – they have made me a better person, and I am so grateful to them all. I hope that all veterans have the opportunity to benefit from Alabaré’s support if they ever need it.
